AUTOMATIC VOLTAGE REGULATOR AVR MOD. MX341, DIGITAL, FOR STAMFORD ALTERNATORS AND MORE, GENERATOR SET VERSION
Item Description:
MX341 is a two-phase sensing AVR and is part of the excitation system for brushless generators.
The excitation power comes from three-phase permanent magnets (PMGs), isolate the AVR's control circuitry from the effects of nonlinear loads and reduce radio frequency interference on the generator terminals.
The short-circuit current sustained by the generator is another characteristic of the PMG system.
The AVR detects the voltage in the main winding of the generator and controls the power fed to the stator from the exciter, then to the main rotor to maintain the output voltage within set limits, compensating for: load, speed, temperature and power factor of the generator.
Soft start circuitry is included to provide control and regulate the output voltage of the generator.
A circuit allows the frequency to be measured and monitored continuously, providing underspeed protection from the excitation system by reducing the generator output voltage proportionally to the speed below a preset threshold.
A further enhancement to this feature is the adjustable Volts per Hertz slope to improve engine recovery time (e.g. turbocharged engines).
Soft start circuitry is included to provide a controlled and smooth build.
Uncontrolled excitation is limited to a safety period by internal shutdown of the device and this condition remains blocked until the generator set is stopped.
The connection of a remote voltage trimmer is provided, which allows the user precise control of the generator power.
An analog input is provided allowing connection to a Newage power factor controller or other external devices with compatible output.
The AVR features CT droop connection capability, to allow parallel operation with other similarly equipped generators.
